The Business Coaching Cycle

Business Coaching follows a certain cycle which in the end will help employees improve their performance at work. Experience and learning new things is a benefit to anybody and armed with these, nobody can stop you from achieving your desired success. Coaching is often seen as a sure-fire synthesis of a mentor’s belief in you to encourage you to set bigger goals for yourself. A business coaches work is very focused and targeted to meet the needs of the clients as well as to try to ensure new habits and skills are developed along the way so that success is guaranteed in a satisfying amount.  

In most business coaching, the whole cycle takes from 3 months to 6 months with sessions for approximately one hour every week either on the phone or in person or through the internet. During any of these sessions, the business coach will set goals for the client and also provides their feedback on many of the issues concerned such as facing an impossible situation as well as offering encouragement along the way. The business coach is very professional in giving you proper insight and works like a powerful liaison between two people and has exceptional results.

A model can be devised for business coaching that includes:

1)     The need to recognize and specify the behavior of a client for improvement.

2)     Determining the methods the participant prefers and the learning style that he or she is comfortable with

3)     Exploring and identifying the obstacles to learning

4)     Development and implementation of new skills and behavior.

5)     Practicing new skill sets and behavior for recognition purposes.

6)     Feed back is given and received on performances of participants.

7)     Generalizing and transferring the process of learning to other situations.

Just like any other profession, business coaching also follows some general principals. When it comes to coaching, the coach always focuses on the potential of the client after the sessions and not on their past performances. Coaching enables them to come up with solutions on their own as well as taking up responsibilities and building awareness.

A coach also poses numerous questions to the client before, during and after every session as this is relevant for two reasons:

1)     For the indication that the client has the required and necessary information from each session

2)     For the indication of which direction needs to be followed

Whenever there is an issue or problem, a coach will normally try to make the client look into these situations and issues and come up with independent solutions through the combination of a vision, planning and opportunity seeking method.

A good coach will try to draw every good idea that his participant has and even take in any vague expressions that the participant is expressing. Both participant and coach will try to come up with a workable solution in achieving goals. That is why the relationship between coach and student/participant is very important so that a professional business relationship can be maintained and results achieved in a faster.
